When I was in school nobody told me what these career paths actually look like from the inside. What they cost. What you give up. What the day-to-day really is.

Everyone just said "follow your passion" or "science keeps options open."

Both are lies by omission.

I've been thinking about what honest career guidance would have looked like for me at 15-and whether that conversation is even available to students today.
