Kittens in yard
Hey everyone. I’m new here on Reddit. I felt like this would be the best place to get some advice. Yesterday, there was a dead bird in pieces in my yard. I assumed there was a cat nearby. Turns out, yes, and she has 2 kittens. I’m thinking the kittens have been here without me realizing, and the mom leaves during the day and comes back at night. That’s what happened yesterday. She was with them at night, but this morning, she left. When the mom is here, the kittens are out and about, but now that she is away, they do not want to leave a hole in my garage. I see them come out to the entrance every once in a while, but when I try to go out to the yard, they immediately run in and hide. I can’t even see them in there. Any advice on what I should do? I just feel obligated to take care of them. The Humane society lady basically told me that they are fine and to leave them be… I have kids, including a toddler and an autistic child, so idk if I should even try to have them around. I’m also allergic to cats, and I’m technically not supposed to have pets in the apartment, but these kittens are freaking adorable. Should I leave them alone and just let them figure things out, as the lady told me? I am a little afraid of cats because I was attacked by one before, but I just want to do the right thing, even if I’m afraid or break out in hives lol I just feel responsible for them since they are here.
