Howdy lads and ladies, I am in need of some assistance , I have an older bike and I have been doing longer rides 8+ hours. And right now I’m setting up the most optimal comfortable bike. I have currently a 53/39 set up, with a 11-28 10 speed cassette. The issue is anything over 5% I can’t spin optimally, the front gear gaps are way to big so there’s really no precise shifting when climbing. I was looking at 10 speed 50/34 Ultegra 172 cranks, however all the older 6750 models are discountinued. I am currently looking at the fc-08 ultegra which is 11 speed. Right now I’m trying to find out if it’s compatible with my 10 speed. Called my shop and they said it would work with revising the front derailleur, but I just want to make sure I’m buying a compatible crank seeing it’s a bit expensive. Sorry for the rant but question is, does it work? Can I buy it or should I look for something else and if so what?
