Australian farmer couldn't attend his aunt’s funeral, so he put out food in a heart shape for his sheep

First memories

I was listening to a Fresh Air podcast episode where the guest spoke about how his mother would talk about his day with him while putting him to bed, a run down of even the smallest events, and this is something I started doing with my son when he was two. He’s 3 1/2 now and still asks for it.

It really struck me how something so small can have such a formative effect, and how a random choice or tradition may be carried out in other households.

Hearing about this from another adult made such an impact on me- and makes me wonder what he’ll remember and feel later when he recalls his childhood.

I’m a felon and I like to do drugs. I also really don’t enjoy human interaction. How will this affect nursing school?

I heard nurses are mean girls and sluts, that’s just my type! Who has the most mean sluts?

Also why do you guys complain all the time not to be rude or anything just saying. Do I really have to study? I also like pizza and I hear you get a lot for free.

My boot remover rock in action

I found this cool rock while digging out and improving the creek and waterfall behind my house. Top comment wanted to see it in action. Couldn’t reply a picture to the comment so here it is!

Found a large petrified log round buried in my backyard in Alaska

I’ve found lots of piles of turquoise, agate, quartz pieces but this takes the cake. Old trove of a rockhound. My kid loves finding them so it’s wonderful.

However I wonder what to do with this piece. It’s so heavy I’m amazed the lugged or shipped it up here from the desert.

I don’t even know who I’d donate it to. Anyway. Cool find.
