If young Audience were having their own children we wouldn't need immigration.
I might spark debate with this one. Western nations have seen declining birthrates for decades. Below replacement rates for many countries. So what does a country do for a workforce in a globally competitive structure? Import labour for now and the future. So now we compete with other nations for immigrants. Australia is very desirable because of the climate, stable predictable government and lifestyle. We win. We don't like the result but we win.
It's not talked about but that's why the government opened the doors.
