Hi all,

I recently completed a full interview loop for a Senior/Staff Software Engineer role at Microsoft.

The loop included coding, past projects, and system design. I felt reasonably good about the technical rounds overall, not sure about past projects, although of course, it’s hard to judge these things objectively afterward.

It has now been a little over a week since the final interview. I sent a polite follow-up asking about next steps/timeline, but I still have not heard back.

For people who have gone through Microsoft hiring recently:

• Is a 1-2 week wait after the loop common?
• Can this happen when leveling (IC4 vs IC5) or approvals are still being discussed?
• Has anyone here had a 10+ day wait that still resulted in an offer or next step?

Trying not to over-interpret the silence, but the uncertainty is definitely stressful.
