Today Ollama Launched a feature to use claude desktop with Ollama cloud models. I felt that this feature is awesome because I find claude desktop wery user friendly specially when working on multiple projects or features. But I always wanted to use Claude Desktop with other models, specially open source models. So (A)I reverse engineered what Ollama is doing and created a Patch scrip that allows you to set your custom Model (Base url, model and API key other than ollama) with Claude Code. Currently the system leverages Ollama's setup so Ollama is needed to be installed in the system but you can use any model out of Ollama, including local models. Give it a Try. I have tested it in Windows. Mac and Linux users can try, raise issue or even PR if the need arrives
