Torture Watch story
I. The 1944 Protocol
In the heat of a forgotten war, Nathaniel Adams and Hovernyan realized that spirits were too weak to defend the physical realm. They needed a bridge. Nathaniel spent years perfecting a device that wouldn't just let you "see" Yo-kai, but would give them a biological anchor.
He didn't build a machine; he engineered a parasite. This was the Torture Watch. It was designed to fuse with the host’s nervous system, using human biology to give Yo-kai physical mass, claws, and lethal strength. Nathaniel was the first to wear it, proving the design's success at the cost of his own humanity.
II. The Discovery
Decades later, Nate finds the watch in a sealed iron box at the base of a shrine. The moment he touches it, the "Success" protocol triggers.
Metal tendrils pierce his wrist, weaving around his radius and ulna.
His nervous system is hijacked.
The Virtuous Attribute activates, flooding his brain with an artificial, cold calm so he doesn't die from the shock of the fusion. He is no longer just a boy; he is a Vessel.
III. The First Summoning: Katie
When a threat appears, Nate’s hand moves against his will, slamming a medal into the watch’s "mouth."
Attribute: Insincere. Nate’s face is forced into a wide, painful grin.
The Emergence: Mutant Jibanyan doesn't appear from a portal; he tears his way out of Nate's shadow, using Nate's skeleton as a brace.
The Kill: Katie is nearby. Following the watch's efficiency protocols, Jibanyan identifies her as a witness and an obstacle. In a blur of visceral speed, the cat mutant eliminates her instantly. The watch is a success—the "threat" is gone, and the host is safe.
IV. The Harvesting of Friends
As Nate moves through the town, the watch continues to optimize itself, using his friends as biological fuel to maintain the Mutants:
Edward’s End: To power the Offensive Attribute, the watch summons Mutant Komasan. The creature uses its claws to drain Edward's life force like a battery. Eddie is left a hollow husk, his blood and energy used to stabilize Komasan’s massive, muscular frame.
Barnaby’s Dismantling: Faced with a physical blockade, Nate triggers the Organic Attribute. Mutant Usapyon manifests, his body a biomechanical nightmare. He dismantles Barnaby with cold, mechanical force, proving that no human strength can stand against a Successful Mutant.
V. The Final Trigger: Hailey Anne
The "Slingers" try to stop Nate, but they are fighting a god in the making. Hailey Anne tries to reach Nate, but the watch senses her as the final emotional anchor holding the host back.
Mutant Hovernyan manifests. With a silent, surgical strike of his claws, he severs the last connection Nate has to the world.
The blood of the innocent acts as the final chemical key.
VI. The God Attribute: Mutant Enma
With everyone gone, the watch reaches 100% synchronization.
"Everything stops. Your body becomes still... Something vast begins to emerge through you."
Nate’s body is erased, his flesh and bone repurposed into a massive, eight-armed, multi-eyed deity. Mutant Enma steps into the world. He is the ultimate success of Nathaniel’s project.
The sky turns red. A spiritual pulse ripples across the planet, "connecting" every living human to the watch’s network. The universe as we knew it is destroyed, replaced by a Unified Existence. There is no more pain, no more death, and no more humans—only the eternal, unmoving kingdom of the Torture Watch.
