Hi everyone,

I’m currently in Belgium on a student visa with my spouse, who has a single permit. I came as a student in 2024 and am about to finish my master's this year.

About the contribution/payment fee related to the dependent visa/family reunification process, I’m confused about what exactly this fee is for.

I wanted to ask:

• Is this contribution fee mandatory for everyone applying under family reunification?
• Is it required to be paid even if you have a student visa?

If anyone has gone through this process recently, especially with an A card sponsor, I’d really appreciate hearing your experience.
