Big screen (17"), cheap (<£500), and won't lag streaming high quality movies.

Basically, a few years ago I bought and still have a Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17", which I just use to watch YouTube and movies in bed etc, the problem is it's soo fuckinnggg sloowwww it can't even handle a decent quality stream of The Wire on Stremio (movie streaming service) without huge unwatchable lag....

I just want one that comfortably can handle that, maybe with a little overkill just to be safe. It has only 4GB RAM which chatgpt seems to think is the issue along with its rubbish GPU/CPU.

Requirements:

  • Screen size: 17"
  • Price: >£500
  • Can do: Stream high quality movies without issue.
  • Everything else: Does not matter at all, it can look ugly as sin, be heavy as a brick, run out of charge in 2 hours, etc...

Anyone have any recommendations?

Anyone recognise these new balance from season 1 of The Wire?

McNulty wears them frequently in the first season, this is the best screengrab I could get, does anyone know the specific model? Driving myself crazy trying to find them. It was filmed 2001/2002 so can't be any models released later if that helps.

Can anyone ID these new balances from season 1 of the wire?

filmed between 2001 - 2002 if that helps, McNulty (the wire protagonist) wears them frequently throughout the first season, just looking for the exact line, thanks in advance if anyone can help. Apologies for low res, its the best I can do.
