Construction business owner transitioning to digital nomad where to start?
Hey everyone! Long-time lurker, first-time poster here.
I'm from Slovakia and I've been running my own construction business managing 2 crews, handling contracts, invoicing, client relations, and project coordination. So I have real business and operations experience, just not in a remote-friendly industry.
I'm planning a gradual transition to the digital nomad lifestyle. My goal isn't to book a one-way ticket tomorrow — I want to first build a stable remote income while still based at home, and only then start traveling (Spain is on my radar as a first destination).
For those who took a similar step-by-step approach:
- Where did you actually start? What was your first remote income source?
- What remote roles or businesses make sense for someone with a small business / ops background?
- How long did the transition realistically take before you felt financially stable enough to travel?
