Problem with a contact
Hi all. My mom has a group of older people (mainly couples) who meet once every couple of months to go out to dinner. She's in charge of the emailing, setting it all up, etc. So last year, I helped her create a contact group and get all their emails put in. She called it Dining Out (which is the name of the group). Well, a couple of months ago, one of the wives in the group passed away. Her husband is friends with others in the group, so he is still interested in being included. In the contact list, his contact is the email address he and his wife shared, and it's under her name. But of course, every time he gets an email from my mom for the group, it's still listed under her name. He and my mom discussed it, and they want to make it his name instead so he isn't seeing her name every time.
So my mom went into the contacts, changed the name to his, and thought that should be golden. Sure, in the contact list, it shows his name. Her name no longer shows up. Cut to the next time she sent out a group email... It's her name, not his. If you go to the contact list, it's HIS name. But when the group is added, it's her name.
She deleted his contact completely so it didn't show up in the contact list (or, of course, the group list), and then she readded the email address with his name. Added the group to a new email, and...her name, not his. So I had her delete his contact again (over Zoom so I could watch it all and make sure, whatever), and then I had her start an email. No contact for her or him. Great. So I had her export the contact list (she was worried she would lose it somehow), and then I had her edit the list and add him with the email address and his name. Saved it, imported it into a NEW group. She started a new email and added the new group...and it's still the wife's name with the email address.
What are we doing wrong?? She's so frustrated, and frankly, so am I because I can't help her! LOL
Thanks in advance!
