Which of these places/activities would you recommend for first-time visitors to Chicago?
My husband & I are celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary in August (well, it's in August. Because of his work schedule, we're going to be celebrating in October with a trip to Chicago from Kansas City). I have a list of possible things to do/visit/see, and I'd like to get opinions on which are worth it and which aren't. A caveat: I'm in a wheelchair, and I'm going to try to rent a mobility scooter while we're there so my husband doesn't have to push it the whole time. Either way, the places need to be wheelchair accessible. Thanks in advance!
The Field Museum
Shedd Aquarium
Adler Planetarium
Museum of Science and Industry
Museum of Illusions
river cruise (or maybe something to do with a cruise of some sort on the Great Lakes?)
the Bean
Navy Pier (This is likely to be a pick, whatever your thoughts. LOL)
Skydeck OR 360 Chicago
The Second City for a comedy show
ghost tour (Chicago Gangsters and Ghosts Tour)
zoo (which is better?)
As for food... We aren't big on high-priced, fancy, frou frou places. Definitely wanna try a deep dish pizza, probably Portillo's, Chinatown dim sum?
Any other suggestions for places to visit or eat? We'll likely be there 4 days and 3 nights, so...
Thank you!
