What is this smelly bradford-like tree? (New Hampshire, US)

This dang tree has been bothering me. I'm no tree expert so armed with nothing but search engine and INaturalist/Seek, the most likely hits I've got were Korean Mountain Ash/alder-leafed whitebeam.

I thought for awhile it was a bradford pear because the key thing here is that the flowers smell bad, but the alder-like leaves don't seem to match the glossy, smooth look of bradfords?

"Alniaria alnifolia" seems to match but I couldn't get any information about the fragrance, or the fragrance was said to be more floral than the sorta fishy, fly-attracting stink. Or is it just my mans the bradford pear LOL.

I am SO curious. Help appreciated :').
