Gemini just reduced prompt limits by up to 60%

Gemini just put prompt limits on a sliding 5hr cooldown counting toward a daily limit. This doesn't seem too bad until you break it down. Under the old Pro subscription you received 100 pro requests a day. Under the new plan those 100 requests have been divided into 5hr increments or roughly 20 prompts every 5hrs.

Now if you sleep 8hrs a day and go to work/school 8hrs. a day that leaves you with 8hrs or 2 5hr quotas a day effectively reducing your limit to 40 requests. a day.

Now here's where it gets worse. the new system isn't based on requests but on "compute" (I interpret this as tokens) so if you have personalization's on(on by default) or you have an ongoing conversation, you can reach your 5hr limit in 8-10 requests. Which would make 20 requests a day, I guess I should have said 80%.

Not to mention they stealth removed the 1000 video credits a month. I dont know what this does to coding or Notebook LM but I imagine if you have a bunch of sources it's pretty much unusable. If your a coder or researcher let us know how it's going.

Please share this with the other AI Subs because all I see is people talking about how good the new Flash.

Edit:math is h4rd
