I tried to pick up baking as a relaxing hobby and my smoke alarm has never been more active.

Everyone said baking was therapeutic and a great way to unwind so I bought ingredients, watched some videos and thought I had it figured out. First batch of cookies came out looking like tiny brown frisbees, second batch I overcorrected and somehow made them raw in the middle and burnt on the outside at the same time which I did not even know was physically possible lol. My neighbor knocked to ask if everything was okay and I had to explain that yes I was fine, no there was no fire, I was just trying to make snickerdoodles.

I genuinely respect bakers now in a way I never did before. Has anyone else picked up a hobby thinking it would be chill and found out the hard way that it absolutely was not??
