Fan Fest Trauma 👕💔😭

On Sunday night at the Blazers Fan Fest, my 7 year old son had his heart ripped out and stomped on during the t-shirt toss. The Blazers media team even captured the traumatic moment and put it on Instagram. How callous could they be?!

My kid has always dreamed of sitting court-side and a guy said he had an open seat next to him, so we plunked him down and I retreated to an open spot a few rows back. Major props to the random guy who made it possible for my blazermaniac son to realize his dream! Little did he know he was setting my son up for future trauma that may never leave his still developing mind.

It all happened during the t-shirt toss. My kid is in the front row excitedly jumping up and down as Toumani Camara and Micah Potter stand directly in front of him and hype up the crowd. Potter looks down at my kid who's in a red jersey with his hands up in the air, feverishly jumping up and down. Potter looks at my kid, looks down at the t-shirt in his hands, and for a moment time stands still as I imagine he might just hand over the t-shirt.

Instead, he rears back and fires the shirt up into the 15th row. My son's body goes slack and I can see the devastation in his body language. He's lost all faith in his heroes. Now I'm not sure if I will be able to root for Potter and I may need to hire a child therapist for my son before we return to Moda for any games this year. Oh the humanity!! How could you be so cruel?!?!?!?

Go Blazers! 😆
