Upon exploring how many and which bricks I would need for an essential feature, I ran into a snag. I have not found a solution that would fit within the collection of bricks of the original set. What to do next? Help needed.
Yesterday, I wrote that my first next step would be to see if I can make a folding mechanism in three or four copies, so that the cargo ship could fold itself over the cargo. Today, I got distracted a bit. That is, I started with the simplest and quickest design for the engine pods and the engines, and from there it was just a little extra to make a first ‘sketch’. And then I got a cool idea for the cockpits.
After too long, I can finally spend some time on my favorite hobby again. I want to make an alt build for the VTOL Heavy cargo spaceship LT81. I intend to write some posts about how I go about doing this because it may help answer many aspiring MOC builders who are getting stuck at the start or later on. Another reason for writing these posts is that they help me reflect on my own ways of working, and hopefully improve them. If you have any comments or questions, please do provide them!
I posted a work in progress message autumn last year. Finished it about a month and a half ago. The color scheme is a bit weird for an ant. It's because it is an alt build of 42009 Mobile crane Mk II.
