[Traska Chronograph] First impressions
I have a Traska Commuter as well, and this Chronograph immediately feels like a step up. I’m not sure if it’s objectively higher quality or if my brain is reacting to the higher price, but it comes across as more substantial, more refined, and very well balanced.
I was worried it would look big on my 6.5” wrist, but it fits perfectly. The bracelet feels genuinely premium with great finishing, chamfered edges. And the on‑the‑fly micro‑adjust is super convenient (even though I had to remove seven links to fit my tiny wrist). It’s not a thin watch by any means, but it’s slimmer than I expected. And it looks way better in person. The domed sapphire is the right choice here. The color‑matched date window with that silver chamfer is a subtle but great touch, and the blue lume works surprisingly well.
Now for the part I’m less excited about - the chronograph pushers. Oh they are stiff, which I guess helps avoid accidental presses but every time I use them, that loud “pop” makes me feel like I broke something. Not the most satisfying action. I’m new to chronographs, so maybe this is normal? Also, the running seconds wheel is cool and all, but I’m still adjusting to it after being used to traditional seconds hand. That might change with more wrist time.
What makes this watch special for me is that it’s a gift from my partner. He doesn’t really get my fascination with watches, but he surprised me back in March by pre‑ordering the Chronograph. He only told me because he thought it would arrive while he was out of town… but unfortunately it only showed up just a couple of days ago.
So yeah, I love it, quirks and all. Anyone else here have one? How’s your experience been? Immediate love or immediate regret?
