How do you actually remember what was decided in a Zoom call 3 days later?
Genuine question. I'm in 4-6 calls a day (software, lots of cross-team stuff). By Friday I have zero recollection of what we decided on Monday.
Things I've tried that didn't stick:
- Notion templates. Filling them out kills the meeting flow.
- Otter.ai. Transcripts are accurate but the summaries are wall-of-text. Also the bot announcing itself in client meetings felt weird every time.
- Manual notes. Half the time I miss context because I'm typing instead of listening.
- Asking the team to take turns being scribe. Nobody volunteers and resentment builds.
- Audio recordings I never re-listen to.
What's actually working for you? I'm convinced there's a system I'm missing. Open to anything: templates, tools, habits, AI workflows, even handwritten if you have a method that survived more than 2 weeks.
(Quick self-disclosure to be upfront: I ended up building my own tool around this, on Mac, after nothing else stuck. Not naming it here because I don't want this to feel like an ad. Happy to DM if anyone asks. Main thing I'm hoping for is to learn what's worked for other people.)
