Waves of fine hair (what works for me)
Hi everyone! Was in this sub for a while and was aware that I have wavy hair for a long time, but didn’t want to admit it was also fine hehe
However, after facing the truth (and some trial and error) I was super happy with how it looks, so thought I’d share!
Classics first - heavy styling creams, gels, mousses (f e Cantu) won’t work on fine hair - it’s too heavy. So picking a good product would be the first priority, in my opinion
I love Umberto Giannini line that works SO NICE for fine hair. My routine now
- after shower with wet hair, apply a bit of curl cream and scrunch using bowl method (basically dunk your head in a bowl of water and scrunch with pulsating motion)
- follow with a mousse - no bowl, just scrunch
- follow with a gel - no bowl, scrunch
- follow with microfiber towel - scrunch
- then diffuse - the biggest difference for me was diffusing by hovering over the hair and not touching it - might take a bit longer but there is considerably less frizz
- Optional - I love living proof spray for texture and volume- pricey but holds so well
Again, this worked for me and I feel like fine wavy hair is a JOURNEY, so probably there would be a lot of trial and error for everyone. However, hope that helps 🫶🏻
