Worried about IBC
Hey guys,
I’ll keep it as short as I can lol. I noticed a flat red mark on on the underside of my breast about 3 weeks ago that hasn’t faded. At first I thought it was a little pimple that would go away, but it hasn’t. It hasn’t changed much at all except for getting itchier if anything. My grandmother had breast cancer that they caught early, and because of that I’ve always been worried about potential breast cancer. I’ll admit I can have anxiety around my health, but I keep looking at this mark and it just doesn’t look right. I went to see a doc today who agreed it looks odd and prescribed me a topical steroid to see if it goes away. Beyond that, she recommended seeing a dermatologist if it doesn’t get better. In the meantime, I’m wondering if anyone else agrees that this looks worrisome? To me it looks like there are more blood vessels in the inflamed red patch of skin than I usually see. Idk. But I’m honestly spiraling. My breast just feels overall irritated at this point, way itchier than usual and my nipple is a bit sore, probably from grabbing my breast and pulling it up so I can look at the mark. I’m just so anxious 🥲
