He was on the poster but from what I know he wasn’t there. Anyone have any idea why he didn’t show?

Do I need to uninstall the previous version? I downloaded the 1.1 from the downloads page but when I try to run the installer I get a message that the previous version exists and I must uninstall from the control panel. Need directions!!!
