2014 Chevy 1500 4.3l Express van oil pan.
I have a question about this broken oil pan. I was attempting to replace the oil pan gasket on my uncles work van which is a 4.3l with knowing that there were two 13mm nuts hidden on top where the pan meets the transmission. The access holes are hidden by two rubber grommets.
Long story short, I approach this gasket repair as I would my dad’s work van and my own which have the bigger 6.0ls’ and all the bolts are outside of the pan so easy money. But when I attempted this repair , my not so bright self thought the pan was seized to engine and, well, I pried all day and ended effing breaking this corner that’s up next to the oil filter. I looked inside the pan and the inside is intact.
So my question is can this pan be JB welded as a temporary fix to keep the van running for Monday or is it trash? I owe my uncle an oil pan btw which I’ve already ordered bc my local auto parts stores don’t carry an oil pan for a 4.3l. They do for the 4.8 and up on the Express Vans
