Was the back valve installed at the correct place?

Hello,

I already have an existing bathroom, and I’m planning to add a powder room beside it. The plumber installed a new backwater valve in the future powder room area. Is this the correct location for it?

When we removed the floor, we also found another backwater valve that was already installed near the existing bathroom.

For the washing machine drain, the plumber is recommending that the drain pipe run inside the wall instead of going underground through the slab. Is that the correct approach?
