Little Bug (orange) with her best friend Chocolate Chip ❤️ Bug has FELV and had to be separated from her litter mates, but the vet was okay with her hanging with our senior boy (all up to date on his vaccinations). Shes def higher energy but they occasionally snuggle!

Any former hockey goalies dealing with si pain?

Just found this community and hoping to find solidarity! Ive had awful lower back pain most of my life, and for most of that time its been primarily in the area of what I now realize is the SI joint.

I was a hockey goalie for decades, and the pain coincided with my starting to really focus on being in that position. Alot of the movements goalies do involve alot of hip flexibility and i did it intensely from ages 7-28, followed by roller derby for several more years (also alot of hip loosey goosey stuff). All this time I was worried most about how years of goaltending hurt my knees but the back and SI joint pain has far eclipsed anything else :(

Are there any other folks experiencing alot of SI joint pain or dysfunction from a similar background? What did you do to get diagnosed or to mitigate the pain? (Ive had decent luck with basic high waisted compression shorts and was thinking about trying the ones they say are specifically for pain management but idk where to start).
