It’s a long shot, but what do you think?

I’m 31 turning 32 by the end of the year. I’m currently an E-5 in the Reserves. I finished my degree recently and with my contact coming to an end I’m looking at commissioning. With that said, I’d like to be a pilot through the UPT program. The base I’m out of flys heavy’s and I’d be more than happy flying a heavy over a fighter. Especially since I might use this as an opportunity to change careers to civilian commercial pilot.

I’ve done some research and it looks like I’m up against the clock. Looks like I need to complete the AFOQT, TBAS, Private Pilot License, get 200 flight hours, Interview/Rush a unit, then hopefully get selected.

This all needing to be done prior to my 33rd birthday from my understanding.

So my question is, I am too late? I just found out about this program and am trying to find out if it will be worth investing of thousands of dollars for a PPL and 200 flight hours and be rejected due to age or just non-select, or should I fill send it?

Thank you for any input!
