I am currently working as an office manager for a small company. I would say I am compensated well, but in this economy, I'm struggling. Currently, I am paying a car note, credit card bills, and a personal loan, so I haven't been able to save any money! Feeling a bit hopeless and angry at myself because I am a person with a lot of potential, but I've been my own enemy, which is why I am where I am.
I tried doing Lyft in my free time, but so far, the time, gas, and mileage aren't worth it. After much thought, I can either side hustle with a personal business (baking, candle making, etc.) and hope it does well. OR change my career path.
Ideally, I would find a remote job I can stack on top of my office job since I work alone in the building 90% of the time. The problem is, I've applied to a handful of jobs and haven't heard back from any. The best option is to find a new 9-5 with a higher salary. Most office manager or admin positions in my area are the same salary or less. Higher-paying jobs in specialized industries like medical or insurance require specific knowledge and experience, so my resume may not stand out. I've seen ads for courses to help you get data analysis jobs and such, but I don't think I have the money for that. So what positions should I look for, or any ideas on what to do? What would you do in my position?
I don't have a degree, but I learn quickly.
