Am I really the only one who doesn't have a problem with the mixing in Victory?

I'm seeing so many people say that the mixing is bad and stuff, some even say it hurts their ears which I never experienced (and I only have $30 headphones so I'm not using anything fancy here), and honestly I couldn't disagree more. I think the mixing is fine for what the project is.

Maybe I'm too used to really distorted and packed mixes. I listen to a lot of Jane Remover, tsubi club, Glaive, acloudyskye, etc. and they tend to saturate everything a lot and drown their vocals in the instrumentation, and I just don't see how that's ever a bad thing. The voice can be an instrument just like any other, not just teeth and a tongue to say words, and having a lot of distortion in a song reminds me of metal vocalists doing screaming instead of plain singing to portray a more intense emotion, even at the expense of intelligibility.

Again, I fail to see how any of this is a bad thing.

I can't use KDE on my main user

I've been trying to get KDE to work as a fallback in case Hyprland gets weird, but I never got it to work.

Every time I try logging into KDE from SDDM I get a black screen, then a blinking TTY cursor, and then when I switch to another TTY and back, SDDM is back there.

I've only been able to get into KDE by making another user, but I don't wanna rely on that since I'd have to set up a lot of my apps again (logins, settings, themes, etc.)

Any way I can fix this? Also what would I need to provide to make helping me easier?

Little rant about the switch to Lua (pls be adults in the comments >.>)

I switched my Hyprland config to Lua yesterday, and I have some thoughts.

First things first, a bit of background. I am not a programmer and know very little about code. I'm mainly a musician and an artist of many disciplines (drawing, 3D, graphic design, a little bit of animation, etc.) My biggest exposure to programming and coding has been vibe coding my own website (at least until I decided to use Fourthwall to handle that) and learning Linux terminal commands.

So with that background in mind, I gotta say that when I first started using Hyprland I was in love. The config was incredibly intuitive and it was easy for me to set everything up. When I first saw the Lua configs however... my eyes freaking hurt @.@ Don't get me wrong, it wasn't hard to figure out what the Lua equivalent commands did, but since I know basically nothing about Lua, whenever I tried to migrate my config myself I got incredibly confused as to how I could make the same command work, something which I didn't go through when the configs still used Hyprlang.

The reason why I'm ranting about that is because I wanted to voice my opinion that I think this change might be detrimental to the growth of Hyprland. That is to say, I don't think many newcomers, especially non-programmers, would like to learn a programming language just to change the settings on their WM. Personally I would include myself there.

And it's not to say it's insanely hard to use Lua. I got my Hyprland mostly working like it used to before the switch. I'm just saying that it's a lot less intuitive to use, and it was a headache and a half trying to figure it out, only for my Noctalia launcher to end up not working, and my screenshot tool (Flameshot) to only appear in one monitor. Are those user error? Most likely. Do I wanna spend hours figuring out how to fix that? No, I got shit to do.

I will say that my system feels a lot snappier now and the animations are really fast and smooth! Not sure if that's due to Lua or another thing that got updated on my end, but hey, not everything is bad after all!
