How do you envision the Batons and Tablethi?
In The Tyrant Philosophers series, a big technology is the Tablethi, the Paleseen drain artifacts/religious items/anything mystical of their magic and turn it into 'batteries' to power their machines/weapons etc... one of which is the 'batons' that the soldiers use, these are used throughout the series as ranged weapons but are blatantly not guns, I was curious to see how people imagine these? I imagine them as sort of thick magic wands, with a slot in for the Tablethi acting as ammunition/magic battery, here is the closest I could get Gemini to recreate my imagination
Started reading Tyrant Philosophers series this year
Never picked up any AT books before, I prefer Fantasy to SF, found City of Last Chances in the library at the beginning of the year, I'm now on Days of Shattered Faith and loving the series as a whole! The world building, the lore, the different factions, I've never read a series like it, I love that we are just travelling around this world and seeing it from so many different angles. I love the different magic, the artifacts, the mysteries, the monsters, and then we just zoom off elsewhere! I love the difference between City and House in tone, story and setting, yet it still drags me in!
Bleak Scandi SciFi
Simon Stalenhåg is the master of this aesthetic, Tales from the loop tv show was great but didn't capture the feel right, I'm looking for something set in Iceland/Norway/Scandinavian region, a bleak feel, adventure/mystery genre, possibly SciFi element. Thanks!
