Why I’m excited for the Frame beyond gaming
Obviously, Valve is designing this to be the ultimate streaming PCVR device. But let's not forget what it actually is under the hood:
An open-source Linux machine with an expansion slot.
I’m buying it for gaming, sure, but I also plan to use it as a travel PC, a portable movie theater, and experimenting with AR stuff. It might require some tinkering, but I know this community is going to build some amazing things for it. The possibilities are endless and I'm fucking excited for this.
Unlike the locked-down ecosystems of the Meta Quest or Apple Vision Pro, the Frame is truly our device. We actually have the fcking freedom to do whatever we want with it.
Thank you Valve
