Hey, I am a game programmer, wanting to ask help for setting up my portfolio

Hey, I am a Game Programmer, with 3 years of college project experience, worked as a sole programmer alongside with other people with different roles in the team in most projects
Have learnt the ways to create and design modular functions and made it mostly for tools for the designer and gameplay programming.
I can easily adapt to other languages to implement such systems, as the way of creating such functions is what I look at the most.

I wanted help in creating my portfolio. I have decided on a website but I am open to other options too. I am just stuck at the part of how to explain what I do. I know what to write but I am struggling in what fashion I write it and plus it looks boring and too much text is bad in my opinion. Even if I put some videos or pictures, it still looks a bit boring and bad.
I want pointers on how to make it look professional but also good.
