Hello. My dad found his old QuickTake 200 in the garage and gave it to me. On the outside it looks pristine (he never used it, knowing him), but when I tried to turn it on, buying new AAs, there were no signs of life. There is no SmartCard inside, as he removed it years ago to use it on another device (I need to look for it, as i know it’s in the house somewhere and it’s the only 5v that we have).

I carefully cracked the camera open and measured the DC external input’s fuse with a multimeter, and there is continuity. (I know this is unrelated to the battery circuit, but since i was there I decided to try anyway).

Before sacrificing myself to search for the card (or buying it) I want to make sure the camera works.

Can the camera even turn on without the card? I tried putting a rigid piece of paper shaped like the card as maybe there is a circuit that needs to be opened in the card slot. I do not know what else I should try.

Is there something else I can try with a multimeter?

Sorry for the broken English, it’s my second language 😮‍💨.
