EUSEXUA Afterglow has me on a chokehold
Hi everyone, this is just an appreciation post of the album mentioned above. Very new to Twigs and to this sub, so excuse me if I ramble much.
First of all, I overall liked EUSEXUA when I listened to it last year. My favs are Eusexua, Perfect Stranger, Drums of Death and 24Hour Dog. The production is amazing. It’s definitely not an easily listenable album, but it’s certainly one of a kind, especially discovering Twigs.
I also loved Perfectly, so I was fairly confused when EUSEXUA Deluxe didn’t happen and instead a whole sequel album came to life. But nevertheless, I gave afterglow a try.
I was very much pleasantly surprised. I felt like I was still listening to EUSEXUA, yet it was a whole different beast. Much more energetic across tracks and incredible production yet again. My faves are Love Crimes, Wild and Alone, HARD, Predictable Girl and Sushi (which is absolutely mind-blowing). I’ve been listening to it nonstop since January and might just become my favorite thing to listen to for the rest of the year. If I had to choose, both albums are incredible but I’m staying with Afterglow.
I also watched her Weekend 2 Coachella Set and she is absolutely incredible, made me wish she was a headliner. Incredible dancing and vocals, just an incredible set. That’s all! What did you guys think when Afterglow drop?
