The 65” Samsung TV in the photo has kicked the bucket after eight years. It is being replaced with a 75” TV that is scheduled to be delivered and mounted this weekend.
The 75” TV will take up the remaining, empty width of the TV stand that the current one is sitting on. Generally speaking, I prefer the height of a TV to be exactly where the current one is on the stand, but with the extra width of the new TV, I will run into a placement issue for the PlayStation and the Nintendo Switch 2 to the right and left of the current TV.
The PlayStation would fit in one of the cubbies beneath the top of the TV stand, but for purposes of airflow, I prefer to leave the PlayStation up top and will therefore lay it horizontally. The Nintendo Switch 2 is too tall for the cubby, forcing me to leave it up top.
The sound bar will remain on the top TV stand as opposed to mounting it.
The only other future component consideration would be a Steam Machine when it eventually releases.
The TV stand is 21” tall and I estimate that I would need the bottom edge of the new TV mounted roughly 7 or 8 inches above the stand to make the necessary clearance for the consoles that will be sitting on top of it. I haven’t done the math to determine where this would put the center of the display, but I feel that, although it would not be the ideal height, it would not be ridiculously high either.
What do y’all think?
