My friend, his pregnant partner and their two year old daughter are going down to Cork. And asked me to look after the house. Which I did last year (although I didn't bring many books or comics with me last time). I live at home with my Dad and a friend who is temporarily renting a room. I unfortunately don't get a lot of quiet free time outside the night-time when they are in bed. Also my Dad is half deaf and sometimes has the TV too loud. And mostly watches TV during the day out of habit and boredom. I'm always trying to read more. I want to start writing more. And get some inspiration from various different media. Such as Film, Prose Literature, Comic Books, etc. Unfortunately, I get distracted easily at home. And rather than read a book/comic or write, I'll binge-watch TV, or worse scroll on my phone. I also have ADHD and can get over-stimulated sometimes when people unexpectedly call. I'm very introverted and socialisation can be draining at times. There are way more triggers at home that lead me to not being as productive/mentally drained.

So I'm really looking forward to being on my own for 6 days. And outside of feeding cats twice a day and going to work (which I'm currently only rostered in Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday), I will finally have some peace and quiet to read and watch whatever at my own leisure. And be able to fully immerse myself into that story/world. And properly think and reflect. Maybe write some reviews of what I've read if I get inspired.

First slide is what comics I'm currently in the middle of reading. And the second is some comics I'm hoping to finally start reading. I'm especially hoping to finally finish off Fantastic Four by John Byrne Vol. 1 Omnibus. Which I'm over 400+ pages into the 1000+ Omnibus. Outside the odd boring/bland filler, I'm mostly enjoying it overall. Especially the excellent #236. That felt very Kirby/Lee Silver Age inspired with Doom putting the FF into artificial robot bodies and making them believe they weren't superheroes. And living in Liddleville instead of New York. And that splash page with a giant Doctor Doom revealing himself to be the real Puppetmaster. Incredible! Also as a big Ben Grimm/The Thing fan, it had some great characterization for Aunt Petunia's favorite nephew. Especially his relationship with Alica. Who can briefly see.

Also finish off Amazing Spider-Man Epic: The Goblin's Last Stand. That ends with the tragic Death of Gwen Stacey. I'm still not over Captain Stacey's death.
