French Toast in the CI for dinner tonight!

Ingredients:

Challah or Brioche Eggs (3-5) Heavy cream (~1 pint) Cinnamon (measure with heart) Brown sugar (1/4 cup or so) Vanilla extract (1-2tsp) Sweetened condensed milk (3 tbsp) Nutmeg (whole grated, 1tsp)

Recipe:

Slice the bread ~1.5" thick, leave out overnight for best results

Combine eggs, heavy cream, spices, sugar, sweetened condensed milk into a bowl and mix until uniform

Pour custard into a baking dish and allow bread to soak 5-10 minutes per side, depending on how stale it gets

Cast iron to med-low/med heat

Butter in the pan to lube it up

Fry soaked bread about 3-5 minutes per side until golden brown

Finish in a 350° oven for ~5-8 minutes to mostly set custard in the middle of the bread

Serve!
