Got insanely close to buying a 990F last night but ultimately cancelled the order.
I don’t think I’d call myself an audiophile but I used to have an old pioneer 5.1 set up in a small closed bedroom and always thought the spatial stuff was really cool, so I’d mostly be buying it just for Atmos.
Main reasons I cancelled in order of least to worst were thinking window to the left of the couch would probably be off balance vs the solid door/wall on the other side.
The couch is right against the back wall so the rears would be at even depth to us instead of actually behind us.
Lastly I’d imagine the huge entryway into our dining room to the left of the tv would probably throw off the balance from the bar since it doesn’t have anything to bounce off of?
The room probably measures 18x12’ or so, the tv is 77”. We don’t have a physical media player so mostly just YTTV, Max, Apple TV etc etc.
Did I make the right call cancelling or are those things the system could have overcame?
(I’ve thought about flipping the room so the TV is against the windows but then the chaise would block like half of the entryway….)
