Newbie - 2nd Piece (Feedback Welcome)
Late post, but here is my second attempt at a ring. I made this one basically right after my first post, where I received some amazing feedback from y'all!
For material, I currently only have one piece of sheet brass and one wire, so I got creative with this one. I basically soldered two wire rings together, then traced the circumference onto the sheet while rolling the ring. I then cut that out and soldered it on the outside of the wire frame to make a "thicker" ring. I think it turned out pretty good.
I was more patient with soldering, made the flowers more detailed, and used a trick I heard somewhere to use a lollypop stick sanded to a cone as a polisher for the little crevices you can't usually get to, but used the shaft of a paper Q-Tip (last photo), and it worked really well. I'm still struggling to get in the smaller crevices with my heavier grit sanding, so maybe I just need to buy some sanding cones specifically for that.
I also got an ultrasonic cleaner, and it worked wonders cleaning off the buffing compound. It's definitely worth the buy if you make detailed pieces.
Any constructive criticism or advice is very welcome! I appreciate everyone who commented on my last post!
