2nd dog that’s not a Golden?

Hello! Curious to hear from people that got a second dog that’s NOT a golden, and how their golden did with it. We have a 3.5 year old golden retriever who is the absolute best. Long story short, we found a lost goldendoodle a few weeks back and had him at our house for a little while we located the owner and he seemed to love it. 3 weeks of scouring adorable puppies on the internet later, we’re fostering a 4-month mix breed rescue right now (collie, boxer, coonhound, lab mix).

Our boy is doing great with him, but I can tell he’s not thrilled about having someone in his space. I’m trying to figure out if this is just a normal adjustment phase, or if this pup is just not the right fit for us. Would love to hear the good and bad of getting a sibling that’s not a golden!

Coonhound mix

Hello! We are fostering a pup with potential to adopt. The rescue org did a DNA test on one of his siblings in his litter, but I’m really wondering if they had different fathers- because I see primarily hound, and do not see Collie or boxer at all!

Curious on a few things from the coonhound experts- do you see the treeing walker coonhound in him? Do dogs with this big of a mix typically exhibit typical hound traits? (I guess that’s impossible to tell, but interested in hearing experiences). Also, how do hound mixes do with non-hound / working line dogs? I have a 4 year old golden retriever rescue. He’s a “field” golden, but truly a couch potato. He likes the dog park, but really just for the social aspect of getting as many humans to pet him. They are doing well together now, but I think my biggest worry is if having dogs with vastly different energy needs and personality. Appreciate any advice and experience!
