IUD Insertion - Tell me it Gets Better

I finally caved and had an IUD inserted 2 weeks ago by an endometriosis specialist/surgeon. I knew there would but an adjustment phase, but the spotting and pain have been so unbearable that I can barely sit at my desk without feeling like I’m going to pass out.

I had excision surgery with a specialist about a year ago, and unfortunately it completely wrecked my body. It worsened a lot of my existing symptoms and gave me new ones, including horrendous periods, pain, and nausea, which I was actually lucky to mostly avoid before surgery.

I never wanted to go back on birth control, but I felt like I was running out of options.

I guess I’m just looking for some hope or similar experiences. Has anyone had an IUD inserted after excision surgery and eventually found relief from their symptoms? How long did the adjustment period take for you?
