Internship offer rescinded 3 days before start date
Got the call today. Internship cancelled. Starting Monday. I don't know what to do.
Spent all of recruiting season grinding applications, prepping cases, doing interviews. Finally got an offer. Told my family. Mentally checked out of job search mode. Then today - 3 days before my start date - they called to say the position was cancelled due to "internal decisions."
I have no backup. Got rejected everywhere else. There is no plan B.
Background: MBA candidate (T25), previously PM at Mastercard. Was trying to break into Product Marketing and GTM this summer. That door just slammed shut and I'm standing in a hallway with no other doors in sight.
I'm not even sure what I'm asking. Has anyone been here before? And if you have, what did you do?
Because right now I'm totally numb and genuinely don't know what my next move is.
