Is ACAMS worth it?

I’m pretty new to the aml space and learning everything about anti money laundering stuff so bear with me if I don’t know some terminology. I’m 24 m and I have about a year and 7 months in retail banking and I’m ready for a step up in my career. Just a couple weeks ago I found out what acams was and found it very interesting. I did some research and found that some companies don’t even require any cert to be considered and they way rather see experience more than anything. I’m not sure if that’s for an entry level or if it just depends on the company. Now, I have some money saved up and if need be I can pay for acams out of pocket (my bank does not cover for acams), but if it’s unnecessary I’ll just apply to positions without it. Would love to hear anyone’s experience on this, some “I wish I would’ve known” anything will honestly help cuz I feel a little lost with all this.
