Hi guys, I am currently undecided between these 3 choices, each one seems to have an advantage that others do not have 😵💫😵💫 Any further advice would be really helpful!
Here are my current reasons for choosing each (+ refers to a pro and - refers to a con):
NUS CS
+ I heard the curriculum is more theory focused which im more interested in
+ Most prestige (does this even matter after graduation?)
- Low chance of hall life since im quite lifeless, idt i can get into their halls if I applied
NTU DSAI
+ 2 years of guaranteed hall life which is quite important imo; I previously attended a math camp at NTU for a few nights and stayed hall there, I rly liked the experience!
- if im not wrong, DSAI would provide less flexibility than a CS degree since its focused on that
SMU CS (w/ scholarship)
+ Lucky enough to have been offered a scholarship (SCIS Frontier AI), the money wld benefit alot plus the other provided opportunities
+ Neat location since its in the city but this also means it doesnt have a fixed large campus like the other 2
+ Closest to my house, about 20-30min walk
- Non existent hall life (ik theres psr but the chance of getting in would be even lower)
- Im quite introverted so I wouldnt prefer their seminar style classes, but its fine
Additional context:
Im from poly with a tech related diploma and i have already decided on sticking with a CS related degree course. I only chose DSAI for NTU bcs i applied through their early admissions in January, my focus was there at that time of applying T.T.
Currently im very leaning towards SMU bcs of the scholarship benefits. But any other things I should take note of before making a final decision would be appreciated! Do correct me if I made any wrong assumptions in my post too. Thank you guys! :) 🙏🙏
