Broken familiarity
It’s hard deciding whom to trust,
Craving peace while they crowd my space.
Once, there was someone who truly knew me —
Now that bond feels out of place.
A single moment changed it all,
And we’ll never go back to how it was.
The laughter now feels faint, rehearsed,
The closeness — lost because of us.
I tell myself to move ahead,
To stop replaying what’s long gone.
But some ties, once broken,
Haunt you even when you’re strong.
