We need higher taxes on economic rent seekers

Given our economy is a rent seeking paradise, why should we have lower taxes? There is so much rent seeking behaviour in our economy, however residential real estate tops the list. Why should a cohort of people see wealth accumulate without any tangible action by them to improve economic output?

We should be taxing property heavily, as well as mining, banking and supermarkets. There should be a levy on the big 4 banks and Coles and Woolworths.

Government should identity rent seeking industry and tax it, whilst remove taxes for productive industry. Hopefully there is a GST carve out for start ups which has indicated could happen.

We need more Mike Cannon Brookes in this country and less people like Tom Panos.

The budget just ended housing’s 30-year super cycle. That’s seismic

I reckon regional and Brisbane and Perth among the big cities could be in big trouble. Especially if rates keep rising

Australia to Tackle ‘Unacceptable’ Housing Market, Chalmers Says

Looks like Albanese is going to walk the tax perks for property all the way down the green mile. Should we have a party or a remembrance ?
