Favorite outdoor dining spots?

My family loves a good restaurant patio or courtyard. Most restaurants here in Cincy, if they have outdoor dining at all, have it as an afterthought. It’s on a sidewalk looking at a parking lot. For example, Taglios in Columbia Tusculum—five tables looking at the parking. Alternatively, you have Cabana on the River—awesome spot, awful food.

Where are your favorite spots for outdoor dining in the area?

Recency Bias

Kids wanted to watch Dune (2024) last night but we don’t have HBO Max (it’s streaming home in the USA). So I found Lawrence of Arabia (1962) on Netflix instead.

I intended to watch until the opening match cut—you know the one—but then got pulled into it until the rescue of Gasim. What a beautiful film.

I know when we see the online discussions around best looking films, stuff like Dune always pops up as visually stunning. Sometimes it will be a Nolan film, or another Villenueve movie, or some other modern film. And much debate ensues over which contemporary auteur makes the best looking films. But they were all of them deceived, for far more beautiful films were made.

All of these guys, talented as they are, stand on the shoulder of giants. And I’m glad an hour of Lean’s epic masterpiece reminded me of that.

What are some of the grandest shots in film and what would you recommend to the kids these days to show them from where Nolan and Villeneuve took their inspiration?

Is “Sell the team, Bob” a good survey response?

How would you answer this? I blamed Phil for my lack of attendance.
