Back story- I’m 5 foot 4, 128 lbs and 38 years old with a family history of high blood pressure, heart disease and diabetes. I had a baby 8 months ago- I had her 5 weeks early after a 35 day hospital stay due to pre-e.
My bp is still high, my cholesterol and A1-C are off the charts high and I’m pre diabetic. Oh and I’m a fitness instructor who works out 5-7 times a week and I make relatively healthy choices as far as diet.
My doctor is recommending I go on a statin asap which means I need to be done breast feeding which doesn’t seem like an option for me right now.
I guess my question is, has anyone made drastic lifestyle changes and avoided going on a statin? Or is this my destiny given family history.
