We are staying at the Hilton Newark pen station in NJ because my idea was the hope on the path and take it into the city to get to Times Square. We only have about 10 hrs at best and I was wondering if I’m crazy for thinking we may be able to squeeze a trip to the Statue of Liberty (via the Staten Island ferry).

What would be our best option to do this correctly to save time and money (I know silly question)? We are open to driving (parking estimates?), taking public transport etc. I just want to maximize our time as much as possible as most of it will be spent in Times Square. I was just hoping to possibly get us on the ferry to see it from afar if possible.
