Normal Reactivity?
My 6 months old boy has recently started getting a little more reactive outside. He does PHENOMENAL in public areas with many people and does not react in any way to loud noises, people 2 mm from him, babies, and such. However, when he notices people coming and talking directly to us (all girl family) he begins to get protective and barks with a slight growl. I’ve seen this as being more curious but i’m not sure. He will never bite others however he will make sure the entire world hears him if someone comes directly to us and stops to talk. Also, when we are in areas with less people he gets even more reactive. In the neighborhood if someone is walking near us and in no way a threat, he begins to jump and bark. It’s like 180. Some days he does great with no reaction other days too much. How can we fix this? We began socializing at a young age taking him to parks, large crowds, boardwalks, all mostly observing and listening.
He is going to board in train for 2 weeks in June which will be for obedience and other basic training. Overall he is a great puppy and listens very well.
