India added 4x the power plants and nearly doubled capacity in 11 years

India’s power grid, 2014 vs 2025: 1,392 plants → 5,233. 248 GW → 457 GW. The story isn’t just growth — it’s decentralization. Solar’s share exploded (103→3,565 plants) while average plant size fell from 178 MW to 87 MW, as thousands of smaller solar installations replaced the old model of a few giant thermal stations

Asiatic Lions: The population in Gujarat grew significantly from around 523 in 2015 to roughly 891, thanks to protected area expansions.

Greater One-Horned Rhinos: Zero-tolerance anti-poaching operations in Assam helped boost rhino numbers from 2,500 to a record high of approximately 3,480.

Snow Leopards: Previously unconfirmed scientifically, a structured scientific census across the Himalayan Arc officially counts their population at 718.

Indian Leopards: Expanded tiger reserves and a better prey base across India pushed leopard numbers up from roughly 8,000 to nearly 14,200.☺️
